Hi everyone, my name is Alma Ventura and I’ve been at DDGi for almost 4 years. Being at a chair for 8 hours a day drawing can be tough. Especially if you like to snack a lot like I do. I soon realized that after being at a desk for so many hours, I needed to get moving and working out. We all have busy lives, but I know you have at least 30 minutes to spare to get your heart moving some kind of way. I've done so many different workouts, but these are my top four:
1. Running: It gives me some "me" time! Time to think, plan, and enjoy the nature that surrounds us. When I go on long runs I like to go to River Legacy Park in Arlington:
The sound of nature is so relaxing, plus you're getting some vitamin D!
2. Yoga: it helps me re-energize and de-stress from a busy day.
Above is a beautiful Contemporary Home Gym from Palmerston Design Consultants.
3. Zumba/Dance Fitness is a fun cardio workout to do with a group of friends.
Flow Fitness in Arlington is my favorite place to go with my girls for Zumba! I’ve been going to Elka Flowers classes since 2011, and she is amazing. They don't only do Zumba, they have Bootcamp, Kids- Flow for kids, Stands, plus many more. Visit their website for a complete schedule and description of classes.
Weight Training: to build and tone muscle! Too much cardio is not good for you! You need to add some weights to tighten up! I tried cross-fit a few times and loved it. Below are some great home gyms that I came across online and would enjoy working out in.
1. John Keaemer & Sons
2. Crisp Architects
3. Farinelli Construction Inc.
4. Bethany Van Hecke
How are you going to "Get Fit"??
